Telepsychiatry in Pittsburgh

Want to Refer a Patient

At the Nexus Group, we believe in meeting patients where they are. We understand that you may find it difficult to prioritize your mental health amid busy schedules, deadlines, and dynamic responsibilities. That is why we have developed a robust psychiatry network that delivers convenient and accessible mental health solutions wherever you are. Telepsychiatry in Pittsburgh allows you to receive expert mental health care from the comfort of your home.

How Does Telehealth at the Nexus Group Work?

Our compassionate team offers accessible psychiatric care to eligible patients in Pittsburgh through our HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. Through virtual appointments, you can meet one of our board-certified providers remotely using your smartphone, computer, or tablet.

All of our providers are board-certified in psychiatric medicine. Our team of mental health specialists, including psychiatrists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, is here to guide you toward wellness using evidence-based approaches to psychiatric care. In addition to medication management, we use advanced techniques such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, hypnosis and guided imagery, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and functional medicine. Our services and telemedical sessions are highly customizable, and we will tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.

Telehealth psychiatry services are generally covered by most major insurance companies. After the COVID-19 pandemic, insurance coverage has increased for telecare services. However, if your insurance does not cover telepsychiatry, we will gladly provide you with out-of-pocket payment options.

What Do We Treat?

Everyone’s mental health is different, and all clients have different needs and goals. Our psychiatric providers have specialized training to treat a full range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, adjustment disorder, depression, LGBTQAI issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep disturbances, and Tourette syndrome.

If you are struggling with your mental health, schedule an initial appointment with our team to learn how best we can help you. Typically, new patient appointments are held in our office in Pittsburgh, but if you require fully remote psychiatric care, our providers can conduct this visit virtually. One of our experienced clinicians will meet you to understand your background, medical and psychiatric history, and goals for treatment. We can then work together to create a personalized treatment plan.

Benefits of Telehealth

With developments in technology, our ability to offer virtual psychiatric appointments profoundly expands the scope of accessibility for mental health care. Here are some advantages that telehealth offers to our patients in Pittsburgh:

  • Increases access to mental health services for all patients
  • Removes geographical barriers and transport challenges
  • Improves access for patients with limited mobility or disabilities
  • Offers flexible scheduling options
  • Provides excellent psychiatric care and medication management in the comfort of your home
  • Covered by most insurance companies

Patients who have been previously unable to seek psychiatric services due to issues related to scheduling, transportation, or finances can now access the same psychiatric solutions as those who come to our office for appointments.

Often, the biggest barrier to seeking psychiatric help is simply getting yourself to do so. If you are struggling with your mental health, you may find it very difficult to even complete mundane tasks, and leaving your house to commute for an appointment could feel impossible. Telehealth removes that obstacle, empowering you to access mental health solutions in the comfort of your home.
