Rachel Kosciusko

Mental Health Physician Assistant

Bio

Rachel studied psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, during which time she published research with the UPMC Liver Cancer Center Quality of Life Program. She continued her training at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic where she worked for three years. Rachel spent another three years working and leading therapy groups at the John Merck Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, where she processed anxiety, mood, and attention challenges. From here, Rachel completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant degree at DeSales University and is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in Psychiatry. While at DeSales, she completed additional training in neurology and served as a mental health mentor at the University. In addition, she provided medical care at the Allentown Rescue Mission and volunteered on medical missions to Honduras.  

Rachel is a specialist in the management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She is a member of CHADD and is a Certified ADHD Professional (ADHD-CCSP). She also has experience with motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. Rachel is thankful that she can continue to train in psychopharmacology and nutrient therapy with Dr. Thorkelson here at The Nexus Group. She is truly a fantastic asset to The Nexus Group team.  


Fun Fact

When not caring for patients, Rachel can be found burrowing into a new book, cooking with her husband, spending quality time with friends and loved ones, and adventuring outdoors.
